Frequently Asked Questions (সচরাচর জিজ্ঞাস্য প্রশ্ন)

How is Krishak Bandhu financial assistance calculated from land size?

Under the Krishak Bandhu (Natun) scheme administered by the Department of Agriculture, Government of West Bengal, assistance is scaled at ₹10,000 per Acre per year. For farmers with 1 Acre (100 Satak) or more, the maximum annual benefit is ₹10,000. For small and marginal farmers owning between 40 and 100 Satak, assistance is calculated pro-rata (₹100 per Satak). For anyone holding less than 40 Satak (0.40 Acre), the state guarantees a statutory minimum floor of ₹4,000 per year.

How and when are Krishak Bandhu installments disbursed?

Total annual assistance is paid in two equal installments directly into the farmer’s bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT): the Kharif installment is credited between May and July (for monsoon sowing), and the Rabi installment is credited between November and January (for winter cultivation).

Can recorded sharecroppers (Bhagchasi) apply for Krishak Bandhu in West Bengal?

Yes. Recorded sharecroppers (বর্গাদার / ভাগচাষী) holding a valid certificate from the Revenue Officer / BL&LRO are fully eligible to apply for Krishak Bandhu benefits, even if they do not hold proprietary title to the land.

What is the Krishak Bandhu Death Benefit (মৃত্যু সহায়তা) scheme?

If a registered farmer or sharecropper aged between 18 and 60 years passes away (regardless of natural or accidental cause), the state government provides a one-time financial grant of ₹2,00,000 to their registered legal heir or nominee upon submission of the death certificate and Warishan certificate.

Why is my Krishak Bandhu installment delayed or not credited?

The most frequent cause of payment failure is an unlinked or non-seeded bank account. Your bank account must be seeded with Aadhaar on the NPCI DBT mapper. If your account is in a joint name, payments may be rejected. Submit an NPCI DBT seeding application to your home branch to resolve the issue.
